Ike, Christina and I interviewed the fabulous Dawn Todd in Fort Collins a couple of weeks ago for Forward:The Network Marketing Movie. Dawn is the mother of 7 daughters, and sets an example every day for her kids, for what it looks like to be an empowered, successful woman. During her interview, Dawn showed her intense passion for the Network Marketing industry, and her strong belief that it can have a massive impact on today’s economy.

There are currently 15 million people unemployed in the United States alone, and 4.5 million of those have been without a job for at least 12 months. Many if not most of these people don’t even know that an opportunity like Network Marketing exists, and if they do, they may have misconceptions about what the industry actually provides for people.  With Forward:The Network Marketing Movie, and with powerful messages like Dawn’s, we can not only increases awareness of this industry, but shift the perception people have of the industry.

When asked about what tips she would give to the new Network Marketer, Dawn replied with: “First of all, don’t be afraid to ask for help and support from your upline.” The great thing about Network Marketing, is that your upline WANTS you to be successful, and will help you get there. She also mentioned getting “crystal clear about your WHY.” Getting clear about your why will help you lay the foundation of your business.

With messages like Dawn, it becomes clearer and clearer the magnitude of difference this industry provides for individuals, families, communities, and the economy.

During our interview with Paula Thomas last week, Ike, Christina and I gleaned amazing new insights into the Network Marketing industry for our film Forward.

Paula, who works in the jewelry industry, works with primarily women, and loves showing these women what a great career opportunity the Network Marketing industry offers for stay-at-home and single mom’s, in particular. Not only does Paula get to witness success in the women on her team, but is honored to see them transform their lives, and grow into all that they are.

Paula discussed with us the income potential within the industry, which “is as much as you want it to be.” Those looking to make enough money to pay for their products have that opportunity, and those that want to make thousands of dollars each month can accomplish this.

If Paula were to give individuals in the Network Marketing industry 1 take home message, it would be to find a company and products you’re passionate about. For the people interested in becoming involved in the business, she stresses the need to ‘do your homework’ and find an integrous company.

Paula shared a story of a time when she moved from failure to success in the Network Marketing industry, in which she “made lemons into lemonade” and used the experience to grow, expand, and learn. Paula’s transparency and willingness to share with us was very refreshing, and we could see that these qualities play a big role in Paula’s success in the industry.

Another fabulous interview for Forward:The Network Marketing Movie took place last week. Lindsay Woods, a distributor for a ‘Healthy Beverage’ company gave us many new insights into the Network Marketing industry.

More than the time-freedom, flexible schedule, and amazing income that Lindsay’s Network Marketing business provides, “My greatest thrill is helping others become successful.”  She said this with the brightest of smiles, and it’s clear that those on Lindsay’s team are fortunate to be working with her.

Lindsay shared with us that Network Marketing gives individuals extra income AND extra time. A 9-5 job will give you income, but the time-freedom that Network Marketing offers just isn’t as readily available with a typical job. Ike, Christina and I realized just how empowering it is for people within this industry to not only be making great money, but to be creating more time-freedom. However, there is also massive responsibility to diving into the industry, as your ‘job’ doesn’t quit at 5pm. Lindsay shared with us that the new entrepreneur can either ‘sink or swim.’ Succeeding in this industry takes time, commitment, passion, and drive.

Lindsay shared with us a couple of tips she would give individuals who have just entered into the Network Marketing world. “Make sure you’re passionate about the products,” she stressed, and “don’t ever give up!” We’re finding a common thread during the interviews for this film – that PASSION is essential to creating success, and having fun while you’re doing it.

One of our first interviews for Forward: The Network Marketing Movie was with Patrick Shaw. Patrick began his career in the Network Marketing industry in 1998, and experienced success in his endeavors very quickly.

During his interview, Patrick expressed his gratitude for the Network Marketing industry for the personal development it has brought himself, his family, and all the people he is so fortunate to work with. As we’ve researched the Network Marketing industry for this film, we have been astounded by quality of personal development people are given.  Quality personal development is not something that’s readily available to those in Corporate America, and this is just another thing that sets the Network Marketing industry apart from so many other career opportunities.

While the monetary success that has resulted from Patrick’s career in the Network Marketing industry is an amazing perk, the more meaningful benefit is what the industry has brought to his quality of life.  He and his wife, Julie, now have more time to spend with their three growing children.

Before Patrick’s interview, Ike and I enjoyed our walk with him and Julie to the bus stop down the street from their beautiful home, to meet their kids after school. Something as simple and special as meeting one’s children at the bus stop is something the Network Marketing industry allows people the flexibility to do. With this film, we aim to share this amazing opportunity with people who don’t know it exists, so that more people can have experience the quality of life that Patrick and his family does.

The AVAIYA crew had the honor to interview an Independent Comfort Specialist for Forward: The Network Marketing Movie recently. Senior Team Leader, Melanie Lewis emanated positivity and enthusiasm for her career in the Network Marketing industry, and was a delight to spend time with.

Melanie shared with us her commitment to having a positive attitude in her business and in her life in general. When asked if people fail in the Network Marketing industry, she replied with: “Attitude is everything. You can look at a situation as a failure, or as an opportunity to grow and learn for the next opportunity.” We found Melanie’s response very refreshing. In our first film, Leap! The Movie, we explored the idea that our perception creates our reality, and that ultimately perception IS our reality! Melanie reminded us of the importance of shifting our perception and attitude to one of positivity in order to grow into all that we are in life and set an example for others.

Melanie also discussed how important it is for Network Marketers to put in the time, effort, and intention in order to be successful. “It’s not easy unless you’re willing to do the work,” said Melanie.

Melanie is expecting her 4^th child next year. She shared with us how ecstatic she is to be able to stay at home with her child instead of having to go back to a J.O.B. after 7 weeks, which is what she had to do with her older 3 children. We were so touched by this story, and felt Melanie’s shear gratitude to the Network Marketing industry for giving her the amazing opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom AND an entrepreneur at the same time. With this film, we hope to help others mothers realize that they can have an amazing, powerful career, and watch their kids grow simultaneously!

The AVAIYA crew had another amazing interview for Forward: The Network Marketing Movie last week. Lina Fletcher, a very enthusiastic Branch Leader with a Home Décor company, started off in the Network Marketing industry when her children were young. This gave her the flexibility to see her children grow and participate in their activities, as well as giving her husband, David, the gift of spending ample time with their 3 daughters.

Originally from Melbourne, Australia, one of the best things the Network Marketing industry brings to Lina’s life is the increased quality of life.  She experiences the time-freedom to not only focus on her great passion for gardening, to spend with her husband and three grown daughters, but also to volunteer her time in her community. ‘Giving Forward’ with her volunteer work is very important to Lina, and without a career in the Network Marketing industry, she wouldn’t have the time-freedom to contribute as much as she does.

The AVAIYA crew visited with and interviewed Nanci Bottcher recently for Forward: The Network Marketing Movie.  One of the most amazing parts of Nanci’s interview was witnessing her extreme passion for the products she distributes. She truly believes in what she is doing, and in how the products she distributes can change the lives of others. This passion shined through in her office, home, lifestyle and wonderful demeanor.

Nanci shared with us the touching story of when she took time off from her Network Marketing business when her young son was struggling with an illness several years ago. Nanci’s team immediately took over her business responsibilities, allowing her to be exactly where she needed to be – with her son. Not only was her business team like family during this challenge, but they worked together to bring in more income for Nanci in one month than she had ever seen before in her many years with the business. I was so touched by this story, it brought tears to my eyes as I listened.

We were also very impressed by Nanci’s commitment to helping others in their business ventures. Nanci has a keen eye and is able to be totally present with others and determine where they are at, and what they need to hear to push beyond any limiting beliefs and create success in their careers.

One of Nanci’s number 1 tips for those entering into the Network Marketing world is, “It’s always too soon to quit.” We anticipate this positive, influential outlook will shine through in her interview, and will reach the masses. I think this is a great take home message for all of us, whether we’re involved in the Network Marketing industry or not. Never give up.
