Part of iKE ALLEN’S “InnerViews Series”
iKE: I have another fun question for you Michael. Can you share your thoughts on creating powerful stories to live from?
Michael:
That’s the power of the story. The bigger the story we can tell, it’s going to really determine our human experience of what’s going on here. It’s really about telling, how big a story can you tell about what’s really going on? And it’s really in the story, we’re storytellers. Telling stories. The thing is to really tell a story that can open someone first of all to their experience.
If you can tell a story that can direct people into their experience that’s a big one. And the possibilities and potential of going into your experience, that’s massive. Those are the stories. The mums in the world were telling stories of a war in iran, all the stories that we tell, they’re such boring stories. We really want to tell.. some people have told massive stories. And we’re still talking about their stories. But right now we really need to tell some really big ones. It’s the same journey sitting around the fire telling a story.

It was only when I entered the emotional component of my experience, in other words when I came to the realization that I had this immense amount of rage, for me there was fear, but there was an immense amount of rage that I was going through. And what I was doing was sedating and controlling it. And the thing about the emotional body is when it’s in a dysfunctional state, when it’s in resistance, because what an adult is is a child in resistance. When it’s in resistance, when the energy is being resisted, I’m sedating and controlling what I’m already feeling and I resist it, it creates a friction and that friction creates a heat. And what happens is I give that heat names, I call it fear or anger or grief, those are spells. It’s all magic, right. We learn to spell @ school. Spell words that we then put into sentences, I’m going to sentence you to this, then we tell stories, his story which becomes history or my story the mystery, it’s all about magic spells. But what’s going on in the emotional body is this heat from this friction and we know because we say he’s hot under the collar, he’s about to blow off some steam, he’s going to blow his top. We know it’s about heat. Global warming, all the heat. So when this heat is going off it’s building up in my body and I’m not paying attention to it in fact I’m sedating it and controlling it. It gets to a point because it can’t be released that I’m going to blow a fuse. And my experience of blowing a fuse was having this immense pain attack. Which would go boom and shut me down. And I’d get up actually be fine. Then it would shut me down. When I went in and started paying attention to it and first of all becoming even aware I was angry, I was just this really nice guy. Going around being really nice, how are you, nice, fine, okay, all these words that mean nothing that come out of lack of emotional body awareness, to realizing I’m really pissed off. I’m so angry I can’t even contain myself. That’s what’s been going on. And when I allow myself to be in that, first of all I have to do physical things to kind of release it. And once I went to really get to resolving it to be with it and sitting in that, the more I did that, the less pain I had. To eventually the point that I made friends with my anger and I turned it to the ability to assert myself. The same energy, it doesn’t go away.
But anger when it’s conscious is being able to assert myself. This is a big challenge at the moment in the world is that we don’t have an expression for our anger. We’re allowed to be really sad. If we’re sad there’s lots of pharmaceuticals for sad. If we’re sad, people go oh it’s okay. The litmus test is to go into an airport. In an airport you can be sad. If you’re really sad people go.. you can be really afraid in an airport, people go don’t worry it’s okay. You try and be angry at an airport, see what happens to you. You’re going to find out how much we’re afraid of the anger. In this world there’s no outlet for the anger. And the thing about the anger is, anger is a very intense type of friction but we require it. Because if a train wants to move it needs friction for the wheels to grip. Otherwise there’s no movement. And the same thing if it’s moving, the brakes need friction to stop the train otherwise you can’t stop it. So anger actually is the movement, it’s a great component for movement within the energy in motion body. If we haven’t integrated our anger, there’s whole aspects of our life that are paralyzed. Any person can look @ their life and where there’s no movement, whether it’s in relationship, work, where there’s no movement that’s where your anger is being reflected outwardly, you’re just not aware of it inwardly. So when I started working with my anger and started allowing that energy to move, to be there, not to turn it from one thing into another, not to stop it or change it but allow it to be there and allow myself to become familiar with it and comfortable with it, then movement started happening in my life. On a physical level it started to happen in that my physical experience became more comfortable. The symptoms went away. The symptoms are also interesting. Symptom – some time. A piece of unintegrated time, that’s all a symptom is. So the pain condition to me is what, the crisis, the Christ in my experience it’s the grace of the experience. It came along to wake me up. And that’s what’s happening in the world to all of us at the moment. Where our discomfort is, where we’re having a really difficult time, this is where we’re to be awoken. And we’ll awake through physical circumstances, then we’ll understand about it and start think ing about it and underneath we’ll realize there’s an emotional signature. And unless we impact the emotional signature that we don’t actually change the quality of the experience. But as we do impact the emotional signature, we also awake the feeling body and be able to see that this experience I’m in right now, this is the spiritual experience. I don’t have to run and try to make one happen. I don’t have to make peace, I just have to get with this one and realize through my feeling body that I am only in peace, I am peace. I am love, I am these vibrations. But my way of relating with it right now is through my feeling body. That’s my work at the moment. I’m a lobbyist for the heart. I say give this a chance. You’ve tried doing the physical stuff. You’ve tried to understand it and discuss it and talk about it. Try and feel it now. Try to go directly to the emotional body, check the heart. That’s the heart of the matter right there. And I think we’re about to..
