Resisting “What Is” is the root of all suffering. If we can’t see where we are, how can we ever move toward where we want to be?
We must accept that we are sometimes trapped in a cage in our lives and once we do, we begin to see ways to free ourselves from our situation. The reality is, most of us are in self created prisons. Yes, there are those that are actually being controlled by others, but for the majority of us, the door is wide open to leave anytime we wish. Often, we complain about our cages, yet we fear leaving them. The cage is familiar, but what lies beyond the cage is almost always unknown. When we feel trapped, we always have someone else to blame, but once we fly away, we instantly become 100% responsible for our lives.
The question we are each asking ourselves countless times each day is, “Do I want to be free and responsible in this moment or would it just be easier to blame someone else for myself and my life circumstances?” An important point to make is that if you do not consciously choose to be responsible for yourself and your life, an unconscious choice will be made and it almost always chooses to blame others.
Freedom is one of my most cherished treasures in the game of life and the paradox is that it is not free. The price of Freedom is being 100% responsible in every moment.
